Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how CV Maker (cvmakeryou.com, “the Platform”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our site. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. By continuing to use the Platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described below, unless you disable them through your browser or our cookie consent tool.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as your login status, language preference, and browsing behavior, to improve your experience and the functioning of the site.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

a) Strictly Necessary Cookies
Required for the Platform to function properly — for example, keeping you logged into your account, maintaining your session while using the CV builder wizard, and enabling secure checkout. These cookies cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.

b) Functional Cookies
Remember your preferences, such as selected language, template choice, or display settings, so you don’t have to reselect them on each visit.

c) Performance/Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how visitors use the Platform — which pages are visited, how long users spend on the CV builder, and where users may encounter issues — so we can improve the service.

d) Marketing/Advertising Cookies
Used to deliver relevant ads and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, where applicable. These are only set with your consent. (Meta Pixel / Google Ads)

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services we use to operate the Platform, such as:

  • Payment processors PayPal and Stripe during checkout
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics)
  • Advertising/retargeting platforms (e.g., Meta/Google Ads)

These third parties may use cookies according to their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.

4. Managing Cookies

You can control or delete cookies through:

  • Our cookie consent banner, where you can accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit the Platform
  • Your browser settings, where you can block or delete cookies at any time (instructions vary by browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent core features of the Platform — such as logging in or completing the CV builder — from working correctly.

5. How Long Cookies Stay on Your Device

  • Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (e.g., to keep you logged in or remember preferences) or until you delete them manually.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal/regulatory reasons. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform.
